Join us in this family/kid friendly talk about BATS! with Linda Nixon as she discusses the Texas Acoustic Bat Monitoring Project and presents an informative talk about bats in North Texas.
Biography of Presenter:
Linda Nixon – Texas Master Naturalist with the Blackland Prairie Chapter
Linda Nixon has been a Texas Master Naturalist in the Blackland Prairie Chapter since 2018. She served as chapter communications director for 5 years and currently holds the position of chapter treasurer. Linda became the chapter Bat Project Coordinator in 2024 when this State-wide project was initiated
Prior to moving to Texas in 2017, Linda worked as the Environmental Services Manager for the City of Hemet California Public Works Department. In that capacity she coordinated the municipal Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program, and oversaw the City’s environmental permits with county, state and Federal agencies.
When she is not volunteering for a Master Naturalist activity, she enjoys spending time with her three daughters and 5 grandchildren. She also enjoys gardening, crocheting and walking with her two dogs.
