- Volunteers get to step back in time and welcome visitors to the historic Minor-Porter Log Cabin at LLELA.
- Some docents dress in period wear (or not) and showcase the pioneer life to visitors. This log home dates back to 1869 and was moved to its LLELA location from Highland Village.
- The homestead grounds also have a relocated smokehouse and corn crib along with a dugout house which was built on the property.
- The cabin is open to the public every third Saturday of the month (except July and August) from Noon to 3 pm.
- Come on the third Saturday of December for “Christmas at the Cabin” from 10 am to 3 pm. Activities include pine cone birdfeeders, evergreen wreaths, candle making, cornhusk dolls and many more crafts from the 1800’s.
