“Stay Safe on the Trails”
Saturday, March 22 – 10 am to 12 pm
LLELA Classroom: Take the first right after the gatehouse to the parking lot where the Blackjack Trailhead, greenhouse, and little buildings are. Look for the building with sunflowers on the front and a Sun and a variety of wildlife on the end.
Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area
201 E. Jones St, Lewisville, TX 75057
Join Friends of LLELA to learn about trail safety tips and strategies. Leonard Chockrek, LLELA volunteer fondly known as “Trail Boss” and Friends of LLELA Board Member will share safety tips for the trails at LLELA and beyond. Because Leonard and his Tuesday trail team hike almost every LLELA trail every week, no one knows the place better.
Hiking or performing trail maintenance, whether you’re concerned about wildlife, weather impacts, renegade trees, poison ivy, or getting lost, Leonard will share all you need to know to stay safe. Afterward, enjoy a pleasurable hike on the LLELA trails. Trail map.
No registration is required. There is no cost for the event itself, but the entrance fee to LLELA is $5 per vehicle. Credit card only; no cash accepted.
This event is approved for Elm Fork and Blackland Prairies Master Naturalist AT hours.
