The City of Lewisville, UNT, and Friends of LLELA host volunteer opportunities at LLELA.

For all events, please contact the person listed to confirm the event is occurring on a given date and to receive details about what to bring, what to expect, and specific requirements. 




 

 

Invasives Species Control at LLELA

Date:  1st Saturday of each month 

Time: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Brief Description: remove Chinese privet and other invasive species

Trail, Nursery, and Greenhouse Work

Monday Morning Mayhem: rough & tumble tasks

River Care

Date: 2nd Saturdays 

Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Brief Description: clean the Elm Fork of the Trinity River shoreline

Outdoor Education

Date: Monday through Sunday

Time: times vary

Brief Description: lead nature hikes; assist with family events, field trips, seasonal camps

Homestead Docent

Date: 3rd Saturday & some weekdays

Time: 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Brief Description: give tours of LLELA’s log house and homestead area; training required

Visitor Center Hosts

Date: Saturdays & Sundays

Birding Hikes

Brief Description: lead or assist in leading bird hikes for the public
