Join us Saturday, May 9th to celebrate the World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD): “Every Bird Counts.” WMBD is an annual awareness-raising campaign highlighting the need for the conservation of migratory birds and their habitats. This year’s theme highlights the roles that all of us, as observers of the natural world, can play in understanding and conserving migratory and native birds, and their vital natural habitats.
This year’s event at the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA) will feature a live raptor presentation from the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center, plus many activities for everyone to enjoy! – Guided Bird Walks – Hands-on Demonstrations, Birding and Nature Apps – Crafts and Games for Kids – Exhibits from local partners.

10:00 & 11:00 Family-Friendly Bird Walks
10:00 – 1:15 Educational Displays & Hands-on Activities
1:30 to 2:30 Blackland Prairie Raptor Center’s Live Raptor Presentation
Free with $5 per car admission to LLELA
